Charles Dickens 1812-2012
This embroidery of Gad’s Hill Place is by Heather Kohn. It is one of the works chosen by TownCentric.
Celebrating the bi-centenary of his birth
Dickens is generally regarded as the greatest English writer of the 19th century. He was born on 7 February, 1812, and died at his home, Gad’s Hill Place, on 9 June, 1870.
The group has produced a series of paintings, some of which are being used as postcards by TownCentric, the Gravesend tourist office, where all the paintings will be on show in May.
