This year marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Dickens, who lived and died in Gravesham. The pictures below show some of the Gravesham sites that are connected with the great writer. Click to enlarge.
This cottage in Chalk is reputed to be the one where Dickens and his wife spent their honeymoon.
Gad’s Hill Place in Higham was Dickens’ home during the last years of his life.
Forge Cottage, in Chalk, on the left, was used by Dickens as the forge in Great Expectations. Cobham Church, right, was featured in Pickwick Papers.
